5 team members posing in Morocco

With love from: Morocco

Hi! We are Younes and Rachida, and together with our dedicated team, we grow a wide range of exceptional, exotic citrus fruits on our family farm, which was established in 1950 near the historic city of Fez, Morocco. Our farm’s story began when my great-grandfather purchased 500 hectares next to the Sebou River, and over time, my father planted our current 82 hectares with citrus trees in 1986. Following in his footsteps, I became both a surgeon and a citrus farmer, and though the farm has passed through new hands, we’ve continued to evolve and grow.

In recent years, our farm has undergone an exciting diversification of its plantation. We have introduced a variety of exotic fruits, including yuzu, sudachi, Meyer lemons, Buddha’s hand, and finger limes. These crops were selected based on research and a passion for exceptional flavour.
Alongside this expansion, we continue to invest in the improvement of our farming practices through initiatives such as careful resource management, ongoing evaluation of cultivation methods, and long-term planning for our orchards. Our commitment extends beyond the farm itself. As members of Sedex-SMETA, we continuously work to strengthen labour standards, health and safety practices, and business integrity throughout our operations.

The wellbeing of our team, many of whom come from nearby villages, remains a key priority. We are committed to providing a safe and respectful working environment, protecting workers’ rights, and supporting our employees through different stages of life. We believe that everyone should have access to opportunities for personal and professional development.

We also believe in giving back to the community. We regularly donate citrus fruits and organize fundraising efforts within our network. As a surgeon, I provide medical assistance by organizing appointments for students and their families, as well as offering help in emergencies. In addition, Rachida leads the ‘Dar Moustaqbel’ project in Marrakesh, which empowers girls from the poor rural regions of southern Morocco, helping them build a brighter future and giving them the tools to succeed.

Our family farm reflects the values on which it was built, from careful growing practices and responsible resource management to supporting local communities and investing in future generations.
