Calamondin

Calamondin is a citrus fruit with a unique flavour – a vibrant cross between tangerine and kumquat. Its bold, sour punch and subtle bitterness make it a favourite in Southeast Asian kitchens, especially in the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia. This little orange gem isn’t just for cooking – it’s equally at home in salad dressings, sauces, marmalades, cakes, jams and drinks. From teas and cocktails to juices and desserts, calamondin adds brightness and complexity with every squeeze. A true flavour booster — zesty, aromatic and ready to shake things up.

With love from: Portugal

“Our journey began in 1959, when our family moved to Africa to grow cotton and rice. Over the years, we shifted into seafood trading for more than three decades, followed by nearly twenty years in gold mining. In 2020, during the pandemic, we returned to our roots on a patchwork of abandoned farmland in Portugal. What began as an experiment with exotic plants quickly turned into a passion, especially after discovering the finger lime, a rare citrus that thrived in the unique soil and microclimate of our valley.”
